A low pressure copper cylinder is not built to take mains pressure. This valve sits on the cold feed and drops the incoming supply to 35kPa, which is what the cylinder and its open vent are designed around. It is the valve you need when you are replacing a low pressure cylinder and keeping the low pressure system. If you are installing a mains pressure cylinder, the valve you want is the pressure limiting stop valve in the Apex combi pack, not this one.
